CENTER OF INNOVATION

We recently attended “ZINO Woman: Intentional Investment Forum” hosted by ZINO Society, a community of Angel Investors, Entrepreneurs and Connectors. They host numerous investment events on a monthly basis and this particular forum focused on new business ventures founded by women. Listening to the elevator pitches and learning about how these fledgling companies provide solutions to a wide variety of problems was energizing and inspiring.
It's also no surprise that these companies are based in Seattle, which ranks among the top 5 cities for entrepreneurship and innovation. And last night's event was even more timely, based on a study recently published on where female entrepreneurs succeed: http://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/entrepreneurship/best-cities-female-entrepreneurs/
At the forum, we met the founders of several innovative companies:
BYNDL is a consumer engagement platform and mobile app for the vending industry.
Salon Solids has developed 100% biodegradable personal care products and packaging that when added with water becomes instant shampoo, conditioner, etc.
Kids Go Co has developed a new type of customizable travel tray for kids and families on the go.
These were just a sample of the amazing companies seeking funding. They all did their research, have clearly defined their value proposition and identified a true need in the marketplace that can be filled with their product or service.
From a brand development perspective, it was wonderful to see the seeds of these ideas begin to grow and evolve. You could tell in some cases where the positioning and messaging was still in development, but poised for greatness. We look forward to seeing these companies flourish over the next few years!
