Press Release, Posted on August 20, 2014
Seattle, Wash. (August 19, 2014) – The Gold Quill, hosted by The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), is the only global competition that celebrates excellence in communication. Phinney Bischoff was honored to be part of the team that earned Trios Health an unprecedented three Gold Quill awards.
The program received nearly 800 entries in 2014. Of those, 109 entries achieved an Award of Excellence while 171 were named Merit Award winners. Trios Health was awarded three separate merit awards in the areas of Change Communication, Brand Communication and Multi-Audience programs.
“We look at the global standard and we want the best of the best, but it’s part of building the profession and giving people the encouragement they need to be better at what they do.” — Gold Quill Awards Chair, Amanda Hamilton-Attwell, ABC, APR
Trios began partnering with Phinney Bischoff in 2013 in order to develop a creative strategy to publicly evolve a 60-year old community hospital into a state-of-the-art integrated health system. Phinney Bischoff began by developing an interim advertising campaign, which signaled subtle changes to the community. This was merely a stepping-stone to the dramatic organizational change that was unveiled on October 10,, 2013 — when Kennewick General Hospital formally became Trios Health. This evolution was immediately introduced via regional ads with the bold message, “It’s more than a new name. It’s a new era.”
Phinney Bischoff developed an integrated advertising campaign comprised of TV, radio, print, transit and banner ads to build brand awareness and to communicate an underlying theme authentic to Trios — “However you need us. Whenever you need us. We’re with you for life.” It embraces their heritage, while speaking to the compassionate, physician-driven, and community-minded spirit of the organization (View :60 TV spot here). The launch ads and follow-up service-line ads, all capture the essence of the Tri-Cities region and were produced in collaboration with local partners.
Gold Quill winners were recognized at the Excellence Awards Gala during the IABC World Conference in June at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto.
