Sahale Snacks

Project summary

Sahale Snacks was founded by two Seattle climbers who endured countless days of uninspiring trail mix and energy bars as they climbed Mount Rainier. The two created a natural and healthy snack dedicated to helping people “Snack Better”. While Sahale Snacks had an established logo and brand architecture, they were looking for a fresh perspective as they prepared to launch their new Dry Glazed Nuts product line. Phinney Bischoff was hired to design and produce packaging for the new product line, while maintaining commitment to the existing brand hierarchy.

Phinney Bischoff conducted stakeholder interviews in order to understand the differentiation that needed to be made between the original Sahale Snacks and their new product line. Our team was so energized and inspired from the interviews, we used the interview content to craft a product story and copy for the back of the packaging. While maintaining the integrity of Sahale Snacks’ current logo and branding, Phinney Bischoff designed and produced a 5-ounce gusset package system, including a 15-ounce pack, and used storytelling to differentiate the product lines.

Sahale Snacks launched their new product line and continued to garner media attention. Sahale’s products can be found in over 4,000 locations nationwide including Target stores and many Costco warehouses. With the help of Phinney Bischoff, Sahale Snacks was able to distinguish their brand within the marketplace and expand their distribution into a larger network of venues such as luxury hotels, cafes, theaters, and health clubs.
